The Punkaharju region is home to a variety of plants and animals, including rare and endangered species. Our eco-tours focus on responsible and sustainable travel, making sure we don’t harm the natural balance of the environment.
As you explore the area, you’ll be surrounded by a stunning natural landscape. There are large forests, clear lake(s), and plenty to see for everyone. You might even get a glimpse of the region’s famous wildlife, for example, the Saimaa ringed seal.
At the center of the region is the well-known Punkaharju Ridge, a natural stunner that attracts visitors from many corners of the world. This incredible formation stretches over seven kilometers, providing an amazing backdrop for your eco-tour. The picture above is a drone shot from part of the Ridge.
Aside from its beauty, the Punkaharju region is rich in history and culture. People have lived here for a long time, and you can still see evidence of their heritage in the local buildings and food.
